As a human resource specialist, the clients are the make or break of this occupation. Most tasks revolve around meeting targets or assisting customers with various enquiries. The HR person works as a support for the overall business of the company. Oftentimes, offering advice is a central part of their activities. New plans that must be applied and projects that must be fulfilled are approved by the HR specialist. The recruitment process involves HR assistants who must take every step of the task into consideration, informing candidates of their acceptance, verifying information, offering assistance for interviews and other related duties.

As for qualifications, employers select applicants with a high school diploma or similar qualifications. The human resource positions are strongly competitive and they can be obtained through different methods. An applicant could apply for a HR graduate preparation program. Some of these programs are being offered to students while at colleges even before they finish their studies. The appropriate diplomas must always be HR-related, this is why it becomes important for a candidate to phone HR organizations and enquire about the correct qualifications that are needed for beginners’ positions. This requires that people should pursue this career in advance, because there are a few steps that must be achieved in order to become recruited. Most HR firms stress the importance of a valid qualification, this turning into a serious matter once the graduates find out that their diplomas are not suitable for a HR role. Since HR is a professional division, further qualification in HR/personnel organization are always appreciated and beneficial. All extra studies associated with the HR field require a specific diploma and some office experience. The graduates obtain the positions of HR assistants after the finalization of their courses and after obtaining relevant work experience.

Accepting an organizer’s position in an HR division can provide meaningful experience and it could lead to opportunities for advancement to an HR office role or HR executive. The skills most needed by HR specialists are: basic computer knowledge, application of Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel, confident communication and interpersonal skills, previous experience of working within an HR role or experience in a customer service role, organisational skills and the ability to work with strategic methods. The successful HR assistant must be polite, professional and efficient.
