Most people these days are seemingly experts on property what with the plethora of related programmes on the topic and presenters ready to advise us on how to inflate the average value of the property market. So this sector could be to â€"nearly- everyone’s interest.

Working as an Estate Agent can start you off on a typical salary from £13k to £20k when still in a trainee position. With more experience gained, this can rise to £25k and beyond to as much as £55k a year but this can all depend on the size of the organisation, the property market, specialism and more importantly, how much commission you can earn. Alas, the trendy-style Mini comes at an extra cost but a cost which won’t take too long to afford.

If you’re role is more along the lines of providing and maintaining accommodation for tenants then being a Housing Officer can start off by paying a salary of £13k-£17k for assisting positions. Salaries can range from £20k-£26k when promoted to an Officer itself whereas becoming a Housing Manager can increase to higher than £30k .

If surveying is your vocation then working as a Quantity Surveyor will pay an initial salary of between £17k and £25k a year with the possibility that, once reaching senior level, this figure could rise to £25k and beyond to a potential salary of up to £50k. Whereas quantity surveying is all about working out the costs of a building, a Building Surveyor will offer suitable guidance on the construction process and graduates can earn in the region of £18k-£20k a year. Those that step up to the grade of Chartered Surveying can expect to earn around £32k whereas those that become a partner within an organisation can earn up to £70k.

A job within the property industry can be a lucrative one and in today’s day and age, everyone is already an expert. Knowing property prices seems a doddle and as long as you watch ‘Homes Under the Hammer’ then you’ll feel right at home with property and letting.
