Staging homes for the market is truly a profitable and enjoyable career choice. You do not need a degree to enter into this industry. Most training courses offer certification and this will suffice. Home Stages Designs offers a valuable, all inclusive business start up & training course on CD for those whom are interested in training at home.

There are many techniques that we designers use in order to prepare a home for the market. The home must appeal to a mass of potential buyers and with this goal in mind a "stager" must design each room accordingly. While the rule of thumb is to neutralize each room you must ensure that it is offering the perfect first impression and this comes into play with proper furniture and accessory placement, using the art of balance, function and scale.

In your training you should learn to inspect a home for needed repairs. Most buyers will shy away from homes that look impressive but are in need of costly repairs up front. You should learn all about curb appeal and how to create an enticing first impression at the curb. A buyer that pulls up to a home that is offering a neglected landscape will most likely "pass" on the viewing as they may feel that the home itself has been neglected.

You should learn the techniques that we use to make rooms, closets and etc. appear more spacious than they really are. The art of illusion is key in staging homes for the market.

You should learn exactly what should be "edited" out of each room of the home and items which should remain. Each item in each room should make a great statement and must be in the room for the purpose of creating ambiance, beauty and function. Each room should offer a "wow" factor!

The home is designed for the potential purchaser, not the owner so you should also learn how to depersonalize the entire home, inside and out. This takes skill!

You should learn every aspect of "staging" the interior and exterior of a home. Once all the above are accomplished the "staging" begins and this is where you will learn to entice a buyer to purchase. Staging is all about "enticing" a buyer to envision their family actually living in the home. Creating rooms that excite them into "acting", meaning, making the move to purchase.

Home Stages Designs offers all of this instruction and more! We know exactly how to design homes that sell! You can take the lead of our interior designer, Teri Woods, with her 20+ years of experience and start your very own Home Staging Business today. About the Author:
I have been an interior designer for over 20 years now and in the past several years have branched out into the world of Home Staging. I have staged homes in the price range of $200k to well over $1m and can proudly state that each home was sold within 3 days to 2 weeks after staged. Staging a home for the real estate market is an absolute must for the seller whom wishes the home to sell FAST and for absolute TOP DOLLAR! Once a home is properly designed to sell it will appraise at a higher value as well. Brokers reap great benefits from homes that are staged in that the home will sell much quicker than others that are not prepared for the "show", the two go hand in hand, Stagers and Realtors.
