MySpace starts its Developer API
Category: Web Development

MySpace continues to improve their platform in order to give more options, functions and additional service. Currently they are setting up a Developer Platform which will allow developers to sign up and share their ideas. That site is live since the beginning of February and will let developers build and test their self implemented services and applications.
The opening was inaugurated with a workshop at the great MySpace San Francisco offices. Afterward different local versions of the same site will follow. The biggest competetor of MySpace is Facebook - so they launched it at the same time Facebook is improving their services. The MySpace Developer platform also supports the new Googles open social API’s. This new opening is a great first step by MySpace for developers. It will be great to see the ideas, functions, applications and services developers will implement. A lot of supporting websites will start just like the MySpace Graphics which offer thousands of graphics, cursors and layouts to improve myspace pages.
