The existence and demand of horror movies is in no way less than the movies itself. Since the evolution of the era of movies, horror movies have made a special place in the minds of the viewers and have been one of the most wanted types of movies till date. There is not even a certain specific age group of people interested in such movies but all individuals do enjoy the thrill involved in them. Horror movies can be exactly described as a progression of proceedings that maintain a feeling of terror, horror and shock all through it. In early days horror movies were mostly based on topics involving ghost stories, but these days the range has widened and topics covering huge animal, creatures from outer world etc are also used to provide the terrifying ingredient in a horror movie. A number of horrifying modes and characters have been constantly employed by various directors over the years to create great masterpieces. Some of the horror characters such as serial killers, vampires, animals attacking humans, monsters, alien mind control, slashers, evil children, zombie, haunted houses etc have made huge terrifying impacts on the minds of its viewers.
Horror movies do create a state of panic and fright which provides thrill but at the same time they can also prove perilous for some. Some people do suffer from panic attacks and some are so influenced by the trauma that they do undergo a shock. But who cares as far as it involves fun and adventure. Horror movies can fascinate people if it has a good plot and well thought ides behind it. The director has to discover an imagination that passes shivers through the audience and portrait it to perfection. It’s a bit shocking but people do love to watch scary things but that’s true. Success of movies like such as Jaws in 1975, Halloween in 1978, Dead by Dawn in 1998, The Evil Dead in 1981 and many more which have rocked the film industry have proven this.
