Four Awesome Autumn Travel DestinationsCategory: Travel & Holidays Article added by: Paul Collins
It goes without saying that travel, like the seasons, is a cyclical affair. The two are so intimately tied, in fact, that we can make the mistake of relying entirely on the weather to make our travel decisions for us.
Which is why people can sometimes be a stumped as to where to go in the autumn. The best of the summer sun is in the past, the ski season’s still a way off yet… Where do people travel in autumn? Well, the below selection of top autumn travel destinations isn’t a bad place to start!
1. Springtime in Buenos Aires
As the leaves start to fall in the northern hemisphere, so spring descends on the south. And one of the best times to roll up and spend a couple of weeks in one of the nicest Buenos Aires apartments imaginable is between the months of September and November.
Sitting out in the sun having a coffee in a pavement café in Palermo Viejo, admiring the blossom, and walking the people walk by, it’s hard to think of a more civilized city.
2. Soak Up the Rays in Sunny Tenerife
It certainly doesn’t have to be summertime to enjoy the best sun, sea and sand that Tenerife has to offer. The temperatures from September to November barely get out of the twenties Celsius – even at night! – and the resorts are much quieter with the summer crowds having departed.
But there’s also a very practical reason to take an autumn break to Tenerife. With the peak season over, many package holidays can be snapped up for a fraction of what they’d cost during the summer, while Tenerife hotels will also drop their prices to attract guests.
3. Avoid the Summer Scrum in Venice
Venice is always going to beautiful at any time of year. But there’s definitely a case for checking into a hotel in Venice outside of peak season, when the majority of the tour parties have gone home, and the narrow streets and echoing waterways can be explored at leisure.
4. Fall in New England
Essentially, fall in New England is like the autumn experience anywhere else… only intensified to the most remarkable degree. Hiring a car and driving the quiet country roads of New England while nature lays on a dazzling display of colors is truly one of the most quintessential autumn travel experiences.
