Driving Instructor JobsCategory: Business Article posted by: Jon Richards
The credentials for becoming a driving instructor could not be easier. If you have a license and it is clean, then why not apply to go on a course to learn to be an instructor.
You obviously must enjoy driving, as you will be doing it all day. You also need the virtue of patience, as you will be teaching people who have never driven before, who are very slow, nervous, and will be making a lot of mistakes.
Driving instructors can often teach students in their own car, but some companies, often the larger ones, will provide you one, with all their branding on it.
The salary of a driving instructor will really range depending on the size of the driving school you are working for, and also the experience you have. Also, it will have a lot to do with how good you are and your success rate. As a lot of the time, driving instructors are passed on through recommendation, as there are so many out there to choose from, that people often listen to people they know who have had a good instructor. So teaching well and getting a lot of quick pass rates will also affect the amount of money you will be on.
Above all, learning to drive is not something you need to have a strong education for, or a degree in any form. You can learn it from the simple skill of firstly knowing how to drive, and secondly applying this skill in to learning a new trade, and teaching others.
Due to there being so many driving instructor schools around, and so many people wanting to learn to drive, there are never any shortages in this industry. People never stop turning 17 and wanting to drive, therefore you should never really be out of a job. Just aim to succeed and do well and you should have a roaring client base.
