More than 1,200 visitors in about 800 cars, splendid weather and a live concert by Austria's up-and-coming pop stars: the smart times 2007, the biggest smart meeting worldwide, were a highlight for the participants and for the visitors of Zell am See. It was not even noon on Friday when one smart after the other passed the place name sign of Zell am See heading towards the 'community area' on the airfield of Zell. After registration, the newly arrived visitors were attracted to the famous Brabus Racedrive: here, professional race drivers got their done-up smarts up to speed.

In the evening, during the Tuning Happy Hour, the owners of the nimble little cars were eager to have a look at the latest tuning items - a must-have for every true smart fan who wants to show off his car at the Deco Contest. The following day, the uniqueness of the cars and the creativity of their owners made onlookers gasp in amazement: the smart drivers formed a 25-kilometre parade with their cars circling the sparkling blue lake in the centre of the region. After two hours they arrived back at their starting point. smarts with registration plates from France, Germany, Italy, Greece and many other European countries were lined up like beads on a string around the shores of the lake - all in all more than 60,000 hp under the hoods of the little cars.

Luttenberger*Klug, rising stars on the Austrian music firmament, were impressed by the international flair and joined the parade with their own brand new smart. On Saturday afternoon they took the opportunity to have a look around the 'community tent' before going on stage in the evening and playing their hits live and unplugged. Bianca, a 15-year-old girl from Zell, was standing right there in the first row. After Michelle Luttenberger und Chrissi Klug had finished their last song, the moment Bianca had been waiting for was finally there: she met the pop duo in the 'hospitality tent' and had a chat among girls. Bianca was accompanied by some friends for support before the meeting. And in contrast to many other visitors of the smart times, Bianca did not even have to travel far. For the girl from Zell, it was just a few hundred metres from her doorstep to this exclusive 'Meet and Greet'.

This 'Meet and Greet' could take place thanks to a cooperation of smart times, the daily newspaper 'Salzburger Nachrichten', and the region of Zell am See-Kaprun. Bianca was drawn out of several hundred fans who had participated in a competition. After this extraordinary event, Bianca will definitely remember the smart times 2007 for some time to come - and this surely holds true for the many smart fans who set off for home with a feeling of nostalgia.
