There definitely is some reason for the best female snowboarders to wear a broad smile on their faces when they explain unanimously, 'We are really looking forward to coming back here!' Jamie Anderson from the USA said, 'It's an awesome snow park and the people here are just great.' And Jenny Jones from Great Britain agreed that in Kaprun she and her colleagues 'can really show what we got.' Her conclusion: 'We always have a lot of fun here.'

From 14th to 16th December the fun is about to continue! On the glacier of 3,000-metre-high Kitzsteinhorn, the elite of the female snowboarders meet for one weekend to participate in the biggest contest of its kind: the Roxy Chicken Jam. For the second time after 2006, when the participants were all smiles because of the excellent conditions, the tourism region of Zell am See-Kaprun is hosting this snowboarding event exclusively for women. And the odds are that this year's judgement of the 'boarder queens' will be even better than last year's.

And this is no coincidence: the newly set-up 'Mellow Park' has just opened its gates for the up-coming winter season. On more than 30,000 square metres there are actually three new parks which will make the heart of every dyed-in-the-wool snowboarder skip a beat. Beside the 'Easy' and the 'DC Central Park', there is the 'Roxy Glacier Park', which has been designed especially for the Chicken Jam. It has already been two weeks now that holiday-makers can test the area at their heart's desire. 23 jumps, rails, and boxes have been set up for Anderson, Jones, and many other top stars to perform dare-devil stunts and amazing tricks. The winner is not only awarded a prize of 30,000 euros but valuable points for the overall results of the Ticket To Ride (TTR) Women's World Snowboard Tour, too.

Already this Saturday, snowboarding fans can get a little taste of what they are in for at the Roxy Chicken Jam in Zell am See-Kaprun during the third weekend of December. Far away from the Austrian Alps - in the freestyle area of the Snow Funpark in Wittenburg in Northern Germany - five female snowboarders from five different nations are going to present their best 'moves'. If this event leaves you wanting more of this snowboarding action, come to Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun!

Even if you'd rather stay at home, you can still get an impression of what the new Mellow Park looks like and what's up at the Chicken Jam by clicking at the recently up-loaded information platform at www.snowpark.kitzsteinhorn.at. There you will find all the facts about the parks, videos, photos, and package deals for a trip to the region. Facing this, even amateur snowboarders cannot wipe a broad smile off their faces.
