Choosing the Right English Course in Canada for an Outdoors EnthusiastCategory: Travel & Holidays Article added by: Paul Collins
Choosing something as important as where to study is no easy matter. And, naturally, picking a destination for an English course in Canada – one of those countries that really can claim to have it all – is no exception.
But when it comes down to it, the trick is to ask what it is you’re really looking for. If it’s the hustle and bustle of a busy metropolis, then Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa are probably best for you. If, on the other hand, you’ve come to enjoy the best of the great outdoors, then the three destinations below might be more suitable.
Whistler
It doesn’t get much better for the outdoors enthusiast looking for an English course in Canada than Whistler. High up in the Canadian Rockies, there are obviously countless fantastic opportunities for walking, such as those on nearby Cougar Mountain or through the beautiful Brandywine Meadows.
But as soon as the first snowfalls of the year start to hit the town, it really comes into its own. The 5,000+ acres of runs that crisscross Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains are home to some of the very best skiing in Canada, and cater to all abilities right down to rank beginners.
Canmore
Canmore isn’t just a nice quiet town – it’s also without a doubt one of the most spectacularly located places to do an English course in Canada. Just beyond its limits, 7,000 square kilometers of Banff National Park stretches away – each one seemingly more spectacular than the last.
Like most Canadian National Parks, Banff is a year-round haven for outdoors enthusiasts and adrenaline junkies. Like Whistler, though, it’s probably most famous of all for the skiing that it (and nearby Calgary) offer.
Vancouver
Unlike the other two recommended destinations, Vancouver’s a city – and a big one at that. Then why on earth would anyone who’s looking to spend some time in the great outdoors want to choose it for their English course in Canada?
The answer is simple: Vancouver is the greenest city imaginable, and it just seems to blend naturally into its surroundings. And what surroundings they are, too! Whether it’s the massive Stanley Park, Grouse Mountain, the beaches of Pacific Spirit Park or nearby Vancouver Island, it’s a city that’s geared up for the outdoors enthusiast like no other.
