Rome on a Budget

If any of you are like me, you’re looking at the current economic problems and wondering how you’re going to manage that vacation this year. With high oil prices and stocks taking a plunge, my pocketbook is hurting. More than ever it’s important to find ways to save, and I might be able to give you a hand!

I found a great way to save on prices without skimping on that Rome vacation I always wanted to take: apartment rentals. It seems that touristic apartment rentals have been around for several years now, but I just discovered them last year. And the great thing about renting an apartment in Rome is that the prices are lower than what I found in hotels. So I get more space and a kitchen for almost half the price of a comparable hotel!

Rental in Rome ( www.rentalinrome.com ) has the biggest and best website I’ve found. They’ve got hundreds of apartments in the Rome historic center, and they’ve even got some incredible castles and villas just outside of Rome. A castle in Italy doesn’t sound too bad… maybe next year.

Booking a Rome apartment was easy. I selected my top picks from the site (they’ve got photos, videos, and maps), and they came back to me with availability. Since I was a bit late in renting an apartment, my choices weren’t available. Nevertheless, they offered me similar apartments in the same zone I wanted in the historic center. There are lofts, studios, penthouses – all different levels of price and quality, so I think anyone could take advantage of this rental agency.

Some of the other rental apartment agencies charged extra fees for cleaning, linens, and whatnot, but at Rental in Rome it was included in the price.

Anyway, the money I saved on Rome accommodations helped take the hurt out of the cost of the plane tickets. You should check it out!
