New York, N.Y. (April xx, 2007) - Hailing from Belgrade, Serbia, multi-faceted guitar aficionado ANA POPOVIC is set to release her first U.S. debut album, Still Making History, on the newly formed independent label, Eclecto Groove
Records (a division of Delta Groove Music, Inc.) on June 19, 2007. The album will be released worldwide. 'Is This Everything There Is- will be the first single to be released to A/C, AAA and Active Rock radio.
Produced by the Grammy-award winning John Porter (Roxy Music, The Smiths, Los Lonely Boys, Bonnie Raitt), ANA POPOVIC's debut release is a stirring collection of original songs, which captures ANA's unbridled passion with her powerful signature virtuosic guitar playing and soulful vocals.
While ANA POPOVIC is a powerhouse, be it her vocals, guitar playing, or personality, Still Making History, reflects ANA's personal relationships, life experiences and her compassion and understanding for others around the world, who are subject to circumstances beyond their control, albeit social, cultural or political. Having lived though tumultuous times under the oppressive Milosevic regime, ANA states, 'This record addresses the different worlds we live in, and how we try to connect for decades as individuals, or even hundreds of years as societies and ultimately try to understand one another.-
Upon learning guitar at the age of fifteen, within a few years she released her first CD entitled Hometown, with her first band Hush. Upon the success of that release, she began touring throughout Europe and appearing regularly on Yugoslavian television. After relocating to The Netherlands in the 90s, ANA has subsequently released an additional three more CDS, and has been connecting with audiences while touring throughout Europe and North America in the last few years. She and her band are gearing up for a spring/summer tour throughout the U.S., Tour dates are as follows:
